Abstract: This paper develops a new comprehensive numerical solution of the deep-drawing of the cylindrical cups with flat-nosed punch. It can be used to get a continuous distribution of stress and strain in the whole region, and can be applied as the basics to analyze other complex metal forming processes. It is concluded that the total strain theory can be used as a substitute for the incremental strain theory to analyze the force and deformation in the deep-drawing of the cylindrical cups in order to simplify the theoretical analysis. In addition, the amount of the effect of the bending and anisotropy is also obtained.
