IDENDIFICATION OF COOLING PROCESS OF TEST PROBE RECOMMENDED BY IFHT-TCQ USING INVERSE PROBLEM METHODS

Abstract: The Technical Committee "Scientific and Technological Aspects of Quenching" within the International Federation for the Heat Treatment of Materials has recommended a new quench test probe. This paper applies the Tikhonov regularizing algorithm for solving inverse heat conduction problems to study the unsteady boiling heat transfer processes between the probe's surface and quenching medium. The numerical solutions obtained .are stable and in accord with the measured check temperatures.
