Abstract: Double-circular-arc gears have a higher surface load-carrying capacity than circulararc gears or involute gears. Using double-circular-arc gear is an effective way to reform the used mill and to increase its yield, according to the home condition. In reformingφ500 section mill of Medium Rolling Plant in the Beijing Iron and Steel Company, the application of the double-circular-arc gears to the herringbone pinion stand has, already achieved satisfactory result-on increasing load-carrying capacity, and service life.
