Abstract: In this paper the application of hardening flank DCA gear in a type 200 cold-rolling mill is briefly introduced. The advantages of hardening flank DCA gear are high loadability, easy formation for oil film and a little wear. Working at the middle and low speed of the transmition, the double circular arc gear can be processed with low-temperature nitration and non-grinding to meeting the need of industry application. The life of the gear is twice as long as involute gear. Therefore, good economic efficiency can be obtained by using the gears. This achievement was Inspected by related experts organized by Beijing Chief Company of Non-ferrous Metal Industry in 1987.
