Abstract: This paper gives a comparison between two different systems. Based on the principle of: minimum annual working expense and the principle of the period to refund the investment respectively, for the defermination of economical thickess of pipe thermal insulation, it is concluded that the nomographs recommended formerly [1,2] are applicable also to the second system. Several concrete,problems as to be expected to occur in the actual calculations are proposed for considerations.
