Abstract: A great number of metal molds(87 pieces, about 100 kg) were found at “Shou Wan Fen” villege near Shinglon City in Hepei province in 1953. These molds of “War Empire”(V~ceatary B.C.) used for casting farm implements and tools, perhaps are the earliest east iron molds in our country. Among these, the mold of broad hoe is made up three parts. From view of design of structure, this is quite satisfied the demand of making thin castings. Nowadays, the unfinished molds are used to make plough at Yang-Chen and other places in Shangsi province. It is of true significance to production of small farm implements today.
