Abstract: In order to study the effect of shot peening on the bending mechanical properties of SLM (Selective Laser Melting)-formed AlSi10Mg, the three-point bending specimens of AlSi10Mg were formed at a laser power of 180 W and a scanning speed of 1 300 mm/s. The single-sided and double-sided shot peening treatments were carried out respectively. The effects of shot peening on the density, porosity, hardness, molten pool morphology, microstructure and bending mechanical properties of SLM-processed AlSi10Mg specimens were characterized by laser confocal microscopy, cemented carbide densimeter, microhardness tester, electronic tensile-torsional fatigue tester and scanning electron microscopy. The results show that shot peening treatment can improve the surface hardness of the sample to a certain extent, and the grain refinement effect is obvious. The double-sided shot peening sample has the highest density and the lowest porosity, which are 2.634 3 g/cm3 and 0.962%, respectively. The comprehensive bending mechanical properties of the double-sided shot peening sample are the best. The bending elastic modulus is 65.88 GPa, and the bending strength is 489.12 MPa. There are a large number of dimples at the fracture, showing ductile fracture.
