Abstract: Gravity influence on thermal distortion of a large deployable antenna is studied. Both numerical simulations and tests are extended together to evaluate and verify influence of gravity on thermal distortion results. Firstly, composition of the antenna thermal distortion is analyzed to find the main sources of differences which will change the thermal distortion results with gravity or without gravity. Secondly, the main sources of differences are estimated step by step, and the influences are given in form of displacements, then displacements of different parts are combined to get the final distortion of the antenna. Eventually, thermal distortion test of the antenna is conducted in zero g (by gravity off loading systems) and one g environment to verify the numerical analysis results.
