Abstract: The vibration of the lathe during machining will affect the machining accuracy and the production efficiency, reduce the life of the lathe and the cutting tools. Thus, under the present lathe and the cutting conditions, it is very important to control such vibration. On the studies of the control for the machining vibrations, the method of the cutting tool compensation movement which is driven by a servo system or a control electro-motor are applied generaly at home and abroad. This kind of contr6l method is complex and the construction size of the control set is too large. They have also brought the affect of the additional system to the dynamic machining system. The work for conversion for the lathe carriage are large also. So we porpose a new control principle and method. That is to complete the control of the vibration, using the radial dynamic machining forces to produce the dynamic control forces wich track the variation of the radial turning forces and oppose their phases. We have built the control system. And the experiments of the vibration control in the turning are completed successfully. The experimental results show that the control theory and method, built by us has reduced the Vibration amplitude strikingly. The machining accuracy can be raised three-times. The production efficiency can be raised also. And it is not necessary to convert the lathe. This method is simple and convenient for the users. Therefore, it has important values for the practical production.
