Abstract: Ordinary chain delivery mechanism is usually used in smooth automated production line with slow kinematic velocity. And due to the flexibility of the chain, it is also applied in complex conditions with high speed and impact. In order to reduce the polygon effect of chain, a kind of high speed new transmission chain is proposed, of which key part is designed and analyzed. Multi-body system dynamic model is established based on ADAMS software. Simulation and test processes are done. The processes show that test result agrees with the simulation one, and simulation model can describe the real high speed transmission chain motion. Two important parameters of high speed transmission chain (layer centroid and mass) are researched in the parametric simulation mode. The result reveals that in order to connect the workpiece and next link easily, the layer’s centroid height lower than or equal chain’s centroid height should be considered to diminish the velocity fluctuation; and layer’s mass is directly affecting the pressure of articulation point due to the polygon effect, which will influence movement stability.
