Abstract: For solving the issues of design for disassembly(DFD), theory of inventive problem solving(TRIZ) methods of contradictions inventive principles and substance-field analysis principles are used to provide innovative ideas to improve the disassembly performances of joint structure between product parts. The problem of design for disassembly performances of joint structure is divided into to two sub-problems: revised design for joint structures and stability design for joint structures. A substance-field model and physical contradictions model for revised design for joint structures is build and a design process for improving the disassemble performance of joint structure is established. For solving the joint structures’ stability such as turning to failure or complex, substance-field model is constructed from two aspects of reducing the harmful effects of the external to structures and enhancing the structures resistibility to the harmful effects. Finally, examples of computer mainframe box are given to show the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method.
