Abstract: A rigid-flexible coupling multi-body model of an articulated dump truck is developed in ADAMS/View environment by using the virtual prototype technique. In addition, the truck model is verified by complete vehicle road simulation test. A tire-soil contact model is also built on the basis of vehicle terramechanics and then is compiled to S-function as a Simulink block. At last, a simulation platform of vehicle-terrain interaction system is completed by integrating the tire-soil model into the vehicle model which is outputted by ADAMS/Control to Simulink as a sub-block. The platform provides an effective method for the research of vehicle terrain coupling problems and an effective tool for the optimization of suspension system.
