Abstract: This paper built a vehicle virtual prototype model with ADAMS/Car and designed a new vehicle stability control system based on yaw rate feedback. This system was consisted of a four-wheel braking logic controller and a monowheel braking PID controller, the anti-locked braking system(ABS) controlled the tire slip rate in order to prevent wheel destabilization, and performed the co-simulations based on ADAMS and Matalb. In the control system, the logic controller just need two channel signals taking the place of four wheels independent control signals, the PID controller was designed to be a enable subsystem receiving the activation signal from the logic controller, and the ABS controller was designed to remove the control behaviour and execute the stability control logic when the tire slip rate less than the limited value. The theoretical analysis and simulation results showed that the vehicle stability system which is made up of an ABS system and a PID control scheme has a better performance on improving the vehicle’s stability, the co-simulation conclusions provide a reference for practical application of the stability control in vehicle engineering.
