Abstract: The wiping-out property and the comgruency property are considered the necessary conditions for a hysteresis nonlinearity to be represented by the classical Preisach model, but in fact, though the wiping-out property agrees with the experiment results, the comgruency property is often experimentally proved to be unsatisfactory when running a giant magnetostritive actuator(GMA) on a high order hysteresis loops. On the basis of the classical model, a modified generalized Preisach model is presented, which relaxes the strict congruency requirement on the hysteresis loops of a GMA. A numerical expression of the model is derived in details, and the identification of that which needs first-order and second-order reversal curve experimental datasets simultaneously. A sinusoidal input signal is loaded to the GMA, and then the outputs of hysteresis are calculated by using this model. The results show that, compared with the classical model, the prediction errors to second-and three-order hysteresis loops are reduced by 34% and 33% respectively.
