Abstract: For active steering control of vehicle steer-by-wire system, the control strategy based on extension sliding mode active steering system is studied in this paper. The SBW dynamic model based on full vehicle model is established in MATLAB/Simulink. On the basis of variable angle transmission ratio feedforward control, an extension sliding mode controller based on the dynamic feedback of the yaw rate is designed, which makes the decision of the reasonable front wheel angle. The extension sliding mode active steering control strategy is simulated in the typical operating conditions, and the hardware-in-the-loop experiment is carried out. The experimental results show that the active steering control method based on extension sliding mode control improves vehicle driving stability compared with no control and sliding mode control.
