Abstract: Bending stress of tooth of DIGLST (Double involute gear with ladder – shaped teeth) is investigated by three dimensional freezing slice photoelastic experiment, the result is mostly alike in comparison with one by FEM. The experiment of soft – tooth gear and hard – tooth gear is carried on high frequency fatigue strength tester, the crack type indicated that location of crack initiation is between 30°and 40°. While the coefficient of tooth thickness is 0.08, the magnitude of decreased stress is about 15% in comparison with traditional involute gear.
