Abstract: In order to improve subjective effects, the response of human auditory system is taken into account in active structural acoustic control (ASAC) by adding several loudness filters in the system. The audio frequencies, which human ear is insensitive to, are attenuated properly by those filters, while sensitive frequencies are amplified. Loudness-LMS algorithm is derived and used in ASAC system. As an example, the new ASAC is applied to a rectangular enclosure. A comparison is made between the new and conventional ASAC system. The simulation results indicate that the new ASAC can achieve better subjective effects than the conventional system.
