DEVELOPMENT OF DRIVING MODULE FOR A SOLENOID-VALVE REGULATED FUEL-METERING SYSTEM

Abstract: A new solenoid-valve driving circuitry is presented, based upon which a fuel-metering control algorithm is also developed and introduced. The driving circuitry adopts a DC/DC converter to implement the dual-voltage supply capability, and uses a two-stage current regulator to shape the so called peak & hold current waveform. Fuel-metering control characteristics based on this circuitry is analyzed. Then the control cycle is established. Based upon instantaneous crank speed estimation, time quantities are converted into angular quantities and vice versa before the fuel metering-in stage. The circuitry and algorithm are finally integrated and tested on an electronic unit-pump controlled diesel engine.
