A CAD METHOD FOR TURBOMACHINE BLADES

Abstract: Based on Wu's general theory of 3-D flow in turbo machines, a computer-aided design method (CAD) has been developed for blades of axial compressor, wind turbine and for impeller of centrifugal compressor. The methods of profile stacking and calculation or temples curves are described. The computer graphics technologies are successfully applied to the procedures of blade design and modification. The methods of plating plane projections and space axonometric images and removing hidden lines are developed. These methods have become a part of CAD system for turbo machines and obtained practical applications. Examples applied in the designs of axial compressor, wind turbine and centrifugal compressors are given in this paper.
