Abstract: Describing clearly energy consumption and relationships between energy data and design data is important for energy-saving design of machinery equipment. With analyzing typical energy consumption factors during running processes of machinery equipment, an open energy description model-energy breakthrough structure (EBS) is presented, and design-energy correlation model was built to express the essential relationships between design parameters and energy states. EBS is structural energy description model, composing of a series of energy factors and energy relationships, the energy factors and relationships can be determined based on running processes, product structures, or energy transfer and conversion processes, etc. Four types of information involve in the design-energy information mapping model, included energy factors in EBS, energy states, part features, and design parameters related to energy states, by extracting the energy states from EBS model, and mapping energy states to design parameters based on bond-graphs theory, the essential relationships between energy information and design information are determined. Finally the heavy apron feeder is taken as an example to show the feasibility of these models and methods.
