Abstract: A revolving ultrosonic drilling machine for drilling carbon fiber reinforced polymer is developed. The experiments have shown that the technique can offer a new effective approach. Thorough studies have focused on the main design considerations and experimental analyses in miniaturizing the vibration systems automatic frequency-tracking of the ultrasonic generator by current-feedback searching for the maximum current-values adaptive restraint control of the axial force and the tool’s equal impendance match. The system has been made into a portable revolving ultrasonic drilling machine, which proves effective for drilling carbon fiber reinforced polymers.
