Abstract: The improved model, which is based on extensible elementary linear graph (EELG) theory, introduces two definition arcs of kinetic character. It can be applied to describe the mechanical components for deriving the topology matrixes of kinemics and dynamics, and obtaining the vectors of kinetic character. Therefore, the proposed approach can construct an integration modeling of producing conceptual design solutions and analyzing dynamic performance for mechanical transmission system. A major advantage is that the topology matrixes will perform the quantitative analysis of mechanical system by automatically generating and solving dynamic equations, and the vectors of kinetic character can implement the qualitative analysis of mechanical transmission function. With a solu-tion-knowledge based on this method for mechanical transmis-sion, the intelligent system can give some different conceptual design solutions, which are satisfied for the design requirement, and automatically simulate the dynamic performance of theirs. In this framework, the designer can optimally select the schemes, reconfigure the type of components, and set the im-portant parameters with the given results.
