Abstract: Because hydraulic driven continuous casting non-sinusoidal oscillation system has some disadvantages, such as bad system synchronization, missing action of servo cylinder and large amount of maintenance, and the amplitude and the waveform deviation rate cannot be on-line changed in mechanically driven continuous casting non-sinusoidal oscillation system, a new device driven by double-slider crank mechanism used for concaster mold oscillation is developed. In the new mechanically driven continuous casting non-sinusoidal oscillation system, with the changing of the rod length, the amplitude A and the waveform deviation rate  will be changed, thereby the waveform deviation rate, amplitude and frequency of oscillation can be on-line adjusted. It provides a precondition for the precise synchronization control of casting speed and oscillation parameters. The developed waveform more accords with the mechanism of continuous casting mold oscillation. Its traits are lower and stabler velocity in rising period, great negative slip speed and short negative slip time in descending period. These improve the strand surface quality and casting speed. This kind of oscillation device is small in size and its oscillation wave can be adjusted easily. The equipment investment is low and it is convenient for the transformation of the existing concasters. It’s a perfect continuous casting mold oscillation device.
