NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF FLOW FIELD AND TEMPERATURE DISTRIBUTION OF FILLING PROCESS OF MOLTEN ALUMINIUM ALLOY IN LOST FOAM PROCESS

Abstract: Applying SOLA-VOF method to the filling process of lost foam casting, coupling with heat transfering and considering the influence on filling velocity of lost foam vaporizing decomposition, author simulate the flow field and temperature distribution of one and two dimensional flowing, predict the fluidity of Al alloy in lost foam casting, show the filling pattern difference between lost foam process and green sand casting.
