Abstract: For researches of the friction characteristics, a pin-on-disc system is established, and the contact forces between the pin-pad and the disc are measured by using a triaxial-force-sensor, and the measured normal force and the tangent friction force are decomposed to static and dynamic parts. On the base of that, a new concept of transfer function of friction coefficient is presented to calculate and to evaluate the friction characteristics under vibration of squeal conditions. The calculations show that, the transfer function of friction is much more reasonable under squeal conditions. The related works will be very helpful for the understand of both friction coefficient and frictional squeal.
