Abstract: The paper presents a geometric modelling system suitable for CAD of forging dies. It is called YTC-1 and is a 3D geometric modelling software using shape operators to combine primitive shapes into more complex ones. In the paper, the mathematical model, data structure, five types of primitives, shape operators and two examples are outlined.
