THE MORPHOLOGY CHARACTERISTICS ON FRACTURED SURFACES AND BEHAVIOR IN FRACTURE PROCESS OF FLAKE GRAPHITE

Abstract: The conventional viewpoint takes flake graphite for voids and cracks, which neglects the studying of graphite fracture behavior. Therefore it limits the deepening of the understanding of cast iron nature. Based on the systematic study of flake graphite morphology on fractured surfaces by the use of electron microscopy. This paper has proposed the names of flake graphite morphologies on fractured surfaces. Described the basic behavior of flake graphite in fracture process and presented rich crystallization information. Correspondent conclusions have been obtained.
