Abstract: The mechanical properties of tires are influenced by various complex factors. To express the mechanical characteristics of the mechanical elastic electric wheel (MEEW) more accurately, a thermo-mechanical coupled MEEW mechanical model is proposed. This study combines theoretical modeling with experimental validation. First, a multifunctional friction and wear testing machine is used to conduct friction and wear tests under multiple variables. The revised Savkoor friction model is fitted to analyze the effects of temperature, slip velocity, load, and road conditions on the friction performance of the MEEW tread. The Lupker H wear model is modified and fitted to examine the impact of temperature and slip energy on tread wear. Next, the brush model is revised by analyzing the influences of temperature, friction, and wear on the mechanical model. The established model is then validated using comprehensive mechanical characteristics testing platform for tires. Finally, the brush model and the thermo-mechanical coupled MEEW mechanical model are compared in simulation conditions to evaluate their performance. The results demonstrate that the proposed thermo-mechanical coupled MEEW mechanical model accurately represents the mechanical performance of the MEEW while effectively capturing the impacts of temperature, friction coefficient, slip velocity, and other factors, confirming the feasibility and validity of this research.
