The Key Technology and Engineering Application of Microgeometry Design and Manufacturing

Abstract: In recent years, the rapid development of high-end equipment manufacturing technology towards extreme high precision, extreme high performance and extreme scales has raised a series of new problems and demands on geometry. Microgeometry describes geometric features with micro scale details on the surface or inside, and provides a mathematical basis for characterizing, designing, processing and measuring micro features. This study expounds the basic concepts and connotations of microgeometry, and analyzes its features of microscale modeling, trans-scale correlation, and local shape control. The key technologies of microgeometry design and manufacturing are sorted out from five aspects, including microgeometry representation and modeling, multiphysics simulation, intelligent design and optimization, high-precision manufacturing, and high-efficiency measurement, and the key scientific issues that need to be solved urgently in microgeometry design and manufacturing are summarized, including macro-micro coupled geometric characterization, material-structure-process-performance integrated design, and geometric characterization and measurement at the atomic scale. Finally, the research of the author's team about the real surface modeling of complex parts based on hybrid dimension, the assembly simulation and analysis of complex product based on contact cluster constraints, and the modeling and topology optimization design of complex microporous structures are introduced.
