Deformation Computation of Variable-thickness Throttle Slice of Shock Absorber for Special Vehicle Suspension and Application

Abstract:

To meet the requirements of throttle slice stress intensity and damping characteristics for special vehicle, the damper needs to adopt variable-thickness throttle slice. However, there is no accurate deformation analytic computation formula for it. Based on elastic mechanics theory, the general solution of the elastic surface differential equation for the throttle slice on linearity uniform pressure is given. Then, the deformation analytic formula is established. The deformation of the throttle slice at any radius is computed and testified by ANSYS. The results show the value computed is close to that simulated and the relative deviation is not more than 0.27%. With a practical example, by the deformation formula, the variable-thickness throttle slice is designed and validated by test. The test results show the valve designed meets the requirements of stress intensity and stiffness and the deformation analytic computation method is reliable.
