Abstract: A preliminary Endeavour in making use of rocking tools for chip-breaking device is described, together with its working principles, calculations of transient tool feed and conditions for chip-breaking. Cutting tests show that such method of chip-breaking is reliable and the tool life can be 40% higher than that of ordinary cutting under same cutting conditions.
