Abstract: Metal-rubber composite sealing part is mainly formed by vulcanization bonding, but it has poor vulcanization environment, low efficiency and difficulty in forming complex structural components. A method producing aluminum alloynitrile butadiene rubber composite sealing part by injection technology is proposed. The aluminum alloy substrate is treated by anodizing and coupling agent. The process parameters of injection molding are controlled. The relationship between the anodizing electrolyte temperature, concentration of coupling agent, mold temperature and the interface bonding properties of the composite parts is investigated through tensile shear test. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) are used to characterize the surface microstructures and compositions of Al substrates treated by different methods. The influence of the surface structure and composition of aluminum alloy on the bonding strength between aluminum alloy and NBR, as well as the failure mechanism of the Al-NBR composite sealing part are discussed. The results show that the bonding strength of the composite is higher than that of the rubber matrix. The obtained results play an important role in expanding the forming methods and application fields of metal-rubber composite part.
