Research on Power Matching and Energy Saving Control of Power System in Hydraulic Excavator

Abstract: In order to archive energy conservation and consumption reduction of the hydraulic excavator under the condition of varied load, it is necessary to make the power matching between the engine and the variable pump system. Then the mathematical model of the variable pump and external characteristic engine are established, and energy-saving control strategy of the power system power matching and the fuzzy control rule strategy to implement this strategy are put forward, and the theory model of energy-saving control system is obtained. By using Matlab/Simulink to establish the simulation mode of the engine and variable pump power matching energy-saving control system, and check the running state of the excavator’s energy-saving control system under different loads. The control algorithm is written into controller electronic control unit(ECU), and make test in the excavator experimental prototype. Simulation and test results show that engine speed can be stable in the near target speed after using this energy-saving control algorithm, consequently reduce the fuel consumption and achieve energy saving effect.
