Abstract: Contact angle measuring device and erosion wear testing machine are used to study the surface free energy and erosion performance of the Al2O3-13%TiO2 coatings prepared by supersonic plasma spraying and atmospheric plasma spraying. The microhardness, porosity and compositions are analyzed. The results show that the coating prepared by atmospheric plasma have a loose surface and internal structure, it’s porosity and microhardness are 6.653% and 836.93 HV0.1, respectively. It is lower than the coating’s 3.467% and 1 078.68 HV0.1 prepared by supersonic plasma spraying. Overall, the coating prepared by supersonic plasma spraying has an improved performance. Due to the dense structure and lower surface free energy, the coating prepared by supersonic plasma spraying has a relatively good erosion performance.
