Abstract: Based on the the complex function theory, curve coordinate transforming method is proposed for analyzing the temperature field around the crack tips in a current-carrying cube component with a circle half-embedding crack at the moment when the current is switched on. In virtue of finite element analyze software, three dimension model is selected to analyze the distribution state of the temperature field and temperature gradient field at the moment when the current is switched on. The results show that the temperature around the crack tip grows up instantly because of Joule heat source effecting. The crack tips may be melted, the welded joints can be formed by metal melting. The radius of curvature around the crack tip will be increased by some orders of magnitude instantly and the stress concentration will be decreased remarkably. So the formation of the main crack source will be prevented and the goal of crack preventing can be reached. The temperature field results of numerical simulation correspond to the results of theoretical analysis.
