Abstract: A precise five degrees of freedom nonlinear analytical model is described. It’s set up for the dynamics of transmission system for roller gear cam indexing mechanisms by the concentrated parameter method. In the model, the influence of the characteristics of the motor, the backlash in the transmission pairs, the squeezing of oil film, the elasticity of the component and the characteristic of the load are considered. And the nonlinear differential equations with five degrees of freedom for the transmission system are derived. Computer software, named RGCAMD is developed for the dynamic simulation of the transmission system in FORTRAN77 in term of finite differential method. With the amount of dynamic simulation calculations on the transmission system and the analysis about the effect of the system parameters on the dynamical response in considerable details, the pattern of the effect of every parameter on the dynamic response is summed up and some valuable eonclnsions for engineering are attained.
