Abstract: The state of the art in the application of particle image velocimetry to complicated flow inside turbomachine is desoribed. Analysis about the characteristic of two dimentional PIV system aimed to do the measurements in turbomachine is made and research achievements in this field are summarized, Finally, further development of PIV technology is presented.
