Abstract: A full numerical solution is obtained for thermal elastohydrodynamically lubricated line contacts, of each contact the two surfaces are moving in opposite directions. The sliding/rolling ratios are allowed to vary from more than 2 till the infinity. Some characteristics of such films are revealed. It is found that the contact surfaces can become concave, and that as the sliding/rolling ratio increases the pressure spike gradually merged into the main pressure peak meanwhile increasing the height of the latter. The temperature-viscosity wedge lubrication mechanism is discussed, too.
