Abstract: The design is a complicate creative work. How to accomplish this work with CAD method is an attractive problem. In this paper, CAD method is presented and a deep discussion is made on this problem aimed at the series product. To process the graphic information, it adopts the techniques of topology description, dimension variable tracing and individual processing of detailing dimension and assemble dimension. To process the data information, it adopts the techniques of datafile, varlable blocks and database etc. The CAD process of AC spindle motor series has been successfully realized with this method. The design information is automatically transferred in the design process of top-down and bottom-up. The design efficiency and quality was improved greatly.
