Abstract: Considering the separation between the electronics and mechanics in large reflector antenna design, the field coupling model is used to establish the optimization model. For the aim of the electromagnetic properties, under the restriction of the maximum mass and stress, an optimization model is established. The method of the field-coupling model is discussed, and the problem of adding the topology variables into the optimization model is pointed out. The current state of the actual situation of unit force and potentially force is used to determine whether the element should be added to the ground structure. The solving scale of optimization model is reduced so as to make this method more suitable to be applied in the project. The antenna sub-surface adjustment to compensate for the electrical properties is taken into account; the value of adjustment is added into the optimization model as design variables. A lot of numerical calculations are finished based on it. The method is applied to the 65 m antenna structure design. A preferable design is found contrast to the result of the optimization model.
