Abstract: Deeply mining the potential available resources within the system is the core to redistribute useful functions of the system in the trimming innovation design process, which is the key to obtaining high-quality solutions through the trimming method. Firstly, the "function-behavior-structure" model (FBS) is used to characterize the knowledge of system components, and the function, behavior and structure similarity calculation is used to retrieve the potential available resources in the system; secondly, The optimal derivation path of potential available resources is determined by computing resource similarity and analyzing functional, behavioral and structural relationships among components; finally, an auxiliary resource derivation process integrating the FBS model and the principle of invention is established to provide more specific and operable knowledge for the resource derivation in the trimming process; on this basis, trimming innovation design process model for mining potential available resources of the system is constructed, the trimming method is applied to design the 4C glue injection auxiliary device, which verifies the effectiveness of the method.
