Performance Regulation Method of the Large Antenna in Service for Improving the Beam Pointing Accuracy

Abstract: With the aperture becomes larger and the working frequency becomes higher, the large antenna turns to be more sensitive to the structural deformation induced by the complex environmental loading. The unclear coupling relationship and mechanism among the electromagnetic field, the structural field and temperature distribution has significantly restricted the development of the high-performance large antenna. Apart from enhancing the design and manufacturing level, it is also important to regulate the antenna performance from the view of electro-mechanical coupling. Therefore, a performance regulation method based on the analysis of the large antenna electro-mechanical coupling, antenna structural sensing and reconstruction, and multi-system compensation method has been proposed to solve the current issue. A large antenna condition monitoring and regulation system has also been developed and applied in reflector antenna and phased array antenna to guarantee its performance. From the engineering application point of view, it is suggested the proposed method can successfully guarantee the detection performance and reliability of the large aperture antenna working in the complex environment.
