Abstract: With the development of lighter carbody and higher operating velocity in high-speed trains, the research of crosswind safety and its control become more and more critical. The active control strategy based on linear track eddy current brake system to improve crosswind safety of high-speed trains can provide a new idea for crosswind-induced safety control. Linear track eddy current brake system is typically used to improve the braking performance, which will produce vertical attraction force between train bogie and rail. Therefore, the active safety control analysis model of a high-speed train subjected to strong crosswind is established based on the vehicle-track coupled dynamics theory, where the linear track eddy current brake system is served as actuator. Considering the complex nonlinear characteristic of high-speed train, the fuzzy control strategy is used to control vertical attraction force. The simulation results show that active crosswind safety control system can react immediately when the high-speed train has the risk of overturning caused by strong crosswind, and reduce the wheel load reduction rate and bogie overturning coefficient on the windward side of the train, furthermore, the crosswind-induced safety of high-speed train is enhanced greatly by this active control system.
