Abstract: Particles' collision in solid liquid two-phase flow has not been taken into consideration in former CFD reserches. To make up for the deficiency, DEM-CFD is adopted for numerical modeling which considers particles' collision and interaciton between particles and the flow. The result shows that enlargement of particles increases flow turbulence, collision and makes the solid liquid two-phase flow uneven. This leads to decrease of lifting and efficiency. The experimental data are close to the modeling data, so the DEM-CFD modeling method is proved to be a feasible way to research solid liquid two-phase flow in deep sea mining.
