Abstract: In order to study the grounding characteristics' influence on noise and rolling resistance(RR), taking 10 different 205/55R16 tires as the object of study. Grounding characteristics parameters are obtained through tire grounding test, the footprints are refined and divided, grounding parameters of each subarea are extracted. The qualitative and quantitative relationship of grounding parameters, noise and RR are studied by numerical analysis method. The results show that the shoulder region, transition region and central region have great influence on noise; Overall aspect ratio, shoulder region and transition region have great influence on RR; Inside length of outside shoulder, the length of outside shoulder and outside transition region effect tire noise and RR performance at same time. Noise and RR are negatively correlated with common influence parameters. Regression equation of grounding characteristics parameters with noise and RR are established by the principal component analysis method. The predictive value and actual value have good fitting results. The research results provide theoretical guidance for the design of low-noise and low RR green high-performance tires.
