Power Following Control Strategy of Hybrid LHD

Abstract: Power distribution control strategy is studied in order to improve fuel economy of load-haul-dump(LHD). A series hybrid system is proposed based on the analysis of the 14 t LHD working condition. The system power chain is analyzed, a power following control strategy with 2-layers structure controller regarding to this scheme is developed. By judging the system state, the engine speed and generator power are controlled, then the engine output power reasonable distribution can be achieved. Field experiment results show that, the control strategy is verified, the hybrid LHD fuel economy can be improved 25.9% compared to the conventional LHD, the purpose of energy saving is achieved.
