Design and Experiment Research on Array-raft Wave Energy Power Generation System

Abstract: The array-raft wave energy power generation system which combines floater wave energy convert technique with raft wave energy convert technique is put forward. The system can collect multipoint wave energy and output electricity energy by taking advantage of the relative shift between multi buoys and floating platform. The structure and working principle of the system is described. The theoretical calculation shows that the best efficiency of single floater is 31.7% after the force and energy convert efficiency were analyzed. A real ocean experiment is conducted and the test data show that the system will get more electricity energy if the buoys are more, on the other hand, the energy efficiency will drop. The ocean experiment proves that the array-raft wave energy power generation system’s principle is correct, which provides a new method to develop ocean wave energy.
