Position Control Characteristics of the Water Proportional Valve with Three-core Follow-up Mechanism

Abstract: The high-pressure and large-flow water proportional directional valve is the key control element for the realization of intelligent hydraulic support in the coal mine. It is related to the precise control effect and support safety of the entire working face. A new water proportional directional valve with three-core follow-up mechanism is proposed to solve the problem that the existing water proportional valve is difficult to meet the high-pressure and large-flow working conditions of the hydraulic support and is hard to control. Through the comprehensive analysis method of theoretical analysis, AMESim modeling simulation and experimental comparison, the feasibility of the three-core follow-up mechanism is verified, and the following-up characteristics of the valve are explored. The results show that the new water-based proportional valve has fast response capability. The full stroke step response under rated working conditions has an opening time of 84 ms and a closing time of about 35 ms. The position following effect of the new valve is not good in slope control model because of the friction effect of the three-core servo mechanism. However, the small-step stepping control mode can much better deal with the friction effect, under which the proportional valve exhibits good position following characteristics. The research provides a reference for the design of high-pressure and large-flow water-based proportional valves for hydraulic supports, and at the same time enriches the types of water-based proportional valves.
