Squeeze Oil Film Characteristic Analysis of Bearing with Elastic Waved Ring

Abstract: An elastic waved ring squeeze film damper was designed in the present paper. The fluid-solid interaction analysis model of the elastic waved ring squeeze film damper was established. The compression mechanical properties of the elastic wavy ring were analyzed based on ABAQUS software. The flow damping characteristics of the squeeze film in the elastic wavy ring gaps were analyzed by MATLAB programming. The fluid-solid interaction dynamics analysis of the damper was governed by data exchange with Python script. The effects of bearing impact extrusion velocity, extrusion displacement, elastic ring thickness, wave period and wave amplitude on the dynamic characteristic coefficient of the damper were investigated. The results indicate that the extrusion velocity has little effect on the compression stiffness and damping characteristics of the damper, the extrusion displacement and wave amplitude have significant effect on the damping, the elastic wavy ring thickness has significant effect on the compression stiffness, and the wave period has significant effect on the compression stiffness and damping characteristics.
