Abstract: Limited by the structure of the parallel mechanism itself, it is difficult to adapt to the phase invariance requirement of non-circular polarized antenna. A 3-RSR (R denotes revolute pair and S denotes spherical pair) parallel mechanism is connected in series with a single-rotation polarization mechanism, and a hybrid polarization antenna mechanism is proposed. The kinematic relationship between the parallel mechanism and the polarization mechanism is established, which is a foundation to avoid the rolling phenomenon of the antenna reflection surface when the parallel mechanism performs azimuth motion. Considering that the rods interference of the parallel mechanism and the movement restrictions of the kinematic pairs, the parametric design of the mechanism is performed to meet the workspace including pitch 0-90° and orientation 0-360°. Referring to the wind load situations of the traditional antenna, the wind load application method of the parallel mechanism antenna is proposed, and the different running trajectories of the mechanism are planned. Using ADAMS software, the required drive torque for the antenna is obtained. The research work extends the antenna configuration and establishes a foundation for the development of antenna prototype.
